We were delighted to work with David Atkinson and supply the lighting for The Royal academy of Arts.
Brief: The design brief for this project was challenging. The curators and the lighting designer wanted to ensure that the exhibited artifacts would not come to any harm whilst on display from the light and any heat generated by the LED lighting system. LED’s do not give off any harmful UV light, however heat is still generated from LED lighting systems even though they run much cooler than traditional lighting systems.
Our solution: Our technical team ran tests of thermal analysis and measurements and were able to demonstrate that the systems proposed for this project would not raise the temperature in the cavity where the artifacts are displayed. All lighting required was then manufactured to specification based on LightLine TriLight.
